Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited

Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO), incorporated in 1970, is a Government of India (GoI) enterprise engaged in providing long-term finance for social housing and urban infrastructure projects across the country. The company was conferred Navratna status in April 2024 and, following its transition from a Housing Finance Company (HFC) to a Non-Banking Financial Company–Infrastructure Finance Company (NBFC-IFC) in August 2024, has expanded its financing scope to a wider range of infrastructure sectors. The Government of India, which held a 75% stake in HUDCO as of December 31, 2024, is the company's majority promoter and continues to provide strong strategic and operational support. As the central nodal agency for key government initiatives such as Housing for All and an implementation partner for schemes including PMAY, AMRUT, and Jal Jeevan Mission, HUDCO benefits from its strategic importance to the GoI, board-level representation, access to low-cost funding, and strong business visibility.
